I never had a silver spoon. I come from a large family of brothers and sisters from Portland, Maine.
I graduated from the University College/UMO with a degree in Human Services. I've studied public policy, law, business administration and real estate courses.
I've worked in the social services field for a number of years as a vocational director, career/educational youth advisor and supporter to the disadvantaged populations seeking employment and weaning off from SSI/SSDI and welfare programs.
I was a past appointee to the Maine Republican Party Platform committee and was elected the Androscoggin County Republican Committee Woman.
I've fought along side members of a union and then challenged against being a member of the union at Augusta hearings in support of Right to Work.
I'm not anti-union but I am against forcing someone to be a paying member especially when the unions are supporting partisan politics that are against one's belief system. Some are supporting abortionists and anti-gun politicians. That is against my belief system and, therefore, I should not be forced to pay them. If you choose to belong to a union-good! If you choose not to, that should be a choice.
I've acquired real estate, rental property on my own from hard work and I enjoy contract language and parliamentarian procedure which is important for getting things done in the chambers of our capital.
I'm Pro-Life, Pro-2nd Amendment and believe in parents having the rights to decide what is best for their children. I'm for less government, less taxes and monitoring tax funded social service programs for measurement of effectiveness. If it's not working, defund it!
I voted Yes on Referendum Question 1 To Repeal LD 798, March 3rd, because I believe if there is a risk of the vaccination on particular kids, there should be a medical and religious exemption.
There's much more to know about me. I'll be hosting informational meetings throughout the state and hope to meet you at one of them!!
United By A Common Goal
Maine needs to grow stronger by upholding the Constitution and by enforcing our rights in Maine and throughout the United States!
Our older population deserves veneration. We need to make sure they’re taken care of in their time of need and for the remainder of their lives. Ideally, families would feel much more honored if they are taking care of their aged parents but with so many of us who need to work, it makes it impossible. Especially in cases of Alzheimer’s sufferers who need constant safety.
We need to make sure agencies who care for our loved seniors are funded to maintain the comfort of our aged parents and relatives.
Our Seniors should have their needs met before non-citizens!
I respect and honor all of our military. The brave men and women who have served our country is why we are free and why we are the safest nation on the earth. We should all honor and venerate our Veteran’s.
All Veteran’s should have access to housing and medical necessity above any and all non-citizens!
I am Pro-2nd Amendment! The 2nd Amendment of the United States Constitution, “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”
Maine voters caused our state to enact the following language in 1987, “every citizen has a right to keep and bear arms; and this right shall never be questioned”, Article 1, Section 16, Maine Constitution.
As a gunowner, I will do everything in my power to enforce our gun rights in Maine and in our country!
My hope is that all new gun owners learn gun safety and how to use their firearm. I'm using my self as an example. I'd only been at a shooting range once in my life before purchasing a handgun. I had no idea what I was doing. I was told at the training that I went to that too many people buy a firearm and never learn how to use it and then the day they need to use it, they don't know what they're doing. That's all I mean by the statement,"My hope is that all new gun owners learn gun safety and how to use their firearm. ". I took a gun safety course and practice at the range.
We need to look at everything possible where we can do zero budgeting to stop funding what isn't working or what never came to be! We need this for the people to live a sustainable life and to stop taxing them to their graves in most every aspect of their being!
I support President Trump by keeping families together in Mexico while awaiting asylum claim validation. I'm saddened, however, that there is such strife in particular countries that people feel they have to flee to another country.
I don't agree with taking on more illegal immigrants when we haven't even taken care of our own citizens. Let's get our lives in order before taking on more responsibility!
Maine continues to lose our population of young due to a lack of gainful employment. There are unfilled jobs in Maine but there is a gap in networking between entities to fill those jobs with skilled, ready-to -work candidates.
We need to look at funding vocational programs in the high schools throughout Maine that are preparing their students for existing and future occupations where a workforce is warranted.
As a former advocate for youth and job matching, I’ll work long hours as your United States Senator to see that this is achieved!
It’s paramount that we help our young people acquire jobs in Maine on an income that will enable them to raise families in Maine and contribute to our economy!
I am proactive for the baby to have the right to become fully developed and to be born alive with no choice of anyone to kill this life at any stage of development. It is estimated that 3000 unborn babies lives are eliminated on a daily basis throughout the United States. The most vulnerable among us is the life in the womb! I’m Pro-Life.
Yes, some say they are Pro-Life unless the mother’s life is in danger. A mother’s life is always at risk when giving birth. Giving birth is no easy feat and anything could happen; especially before advanced medical practices came to be. Today, we are so much more advanced that danger has been minimized. A baby who is breach can enter into our world by way of Caesarean birth therefore lessening the mother’s danger.
There are countless stories of how a pregnant female was warned by a doctor to eliminate the birth of their child due to some lurking peril but who chose to go full term to a successful pregnancy, birth and health of the mother, after the fact.
Personally, I was told to have a procedure performed that could have jeopardized my 2nd pregnancy of my daughter. I chose to have the procedure after giving birth. I went to a new doctor who also urged me to have the procedure as soon as possible. I stood my ground to have the procedure performed after the birth of my baby. All went well. I gave birth, my precancerous cells were evaluated. I am cancer free and have a daughter who later gave me a grandson!
Pregnant women should be informed how they will be affected if they go through with eliminating the life of their child. Grief, regret and sadness for the rest of their lives is what scores of women have experienced. Many are diagnosed with depression after abortion. Many wish they made the decision not to have that abortion. I am one of those women who wished I had a sound person in my life back when I eliminated my 3rd pregnancy. No reason should have been good enough to do what I did back in the 1980’s.
Planned Parenthood does not help the mother with keeping their unborn. They are guiding them and taking them by the hand to eliminate their pregnancy. That is a huge money maker for PP. I will seek to defund PP and to urge people to go to their local doctors who are on a sliding fee scale and who provide charity for those unable to pay to go on contraceptives and to ensure their own gynecological health! We cannot minimize the need for men to be healthy as well!
Roe v. Wade needs to be overturned. We need to deem our unborn as citizens with a right to life!
Unions and Right To Work:
I don't have issue with unions except that employees should not be forced to pay union dues if they choose not to belong. I did have a past issue with a union that I was forced to pay who did me wrong. I spoke out against that union in Augusta but could not terminate their services and could not stop paying them or I would face losing my job.
I'm grateful that former Governor LePage negotiated with state employees and the union to allow us workers to no longer be forced to pay union dues.
On the Maine Vaccine Referendum, I voted absentee ballot "Yes" on 1. https://www.sunjournal.com/2020/02/28/republicans-democrats-split-on-whether-to-back-question-1/?utm_source=Headlines&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Daily
"Linda Wooten of Auburn, an independent candidate for the U.S. Senate, said she supports repeal of the law in order to preserve parental choice “to take care of their children the best way they feel fit.”
She said that many parents who pushed for the referendum have allowed their children to receive immunizations.
“That is not the issue,” Wooten said. “The issue with the mandate is that it takes away the parent’s right to take care of their children in the way that is best” for their own children.
“Parents feel this is a dangerous precedent that will grow into more mandates if not stopped,” Wooten said".
